Local fisheries biologist next guest speaker in NAS Series

Tammie Paoli, a fisheries biologist for the Wisconsin DNR, is the guest speaker for the next Natural and Applied Sciences seminar this Friday (March 7). The program begins with a social at 3:15 p.m. in Environmental Sciences Room 317, followed by Paoli’s presentation at 3:45 p.m. in ES 301. Her topic is “An overview of fisheries management and surveys in Green Bay and southern Oconto County.” She’ll discuss various fisheries projects that comprise a typical field season in her job, highlighting Green Bay yellow perch, brown trout, northern pike, and the impact of cormorants on those fisheries, as well as inland lake fyke netting and electrofishing surveys, stream temperature monitoring, and road and stream crossing surveys.
