You’re invited! Great Lakes Freshwater Symposium
All faculty, staff, and students are invited to join water researchers and students from Canadian and American universities for a free, virtual Great Lakes Freshwater Symposium: The Impact of Phosphorus Rules on Local Water on Tuesday, February 28, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (CST).
At this free online event, participants will learn about research and policy developments that may benefit their own states and provinces on the Great Lakes. Participants also will have the opportunity to select breakout rooms by topic, and to engage in discussion with colleagues from the binational Great Lakes region, regarding phosphorus research opportunities, and/or setting the water policy agenda for the coming decade.
Anya Janssen, water policy specialist at the UW-Milwaukee Center for Water Policy and Sea Grant University of Wisconsin water science-policy fellow, will present key takeaways from the recent statewide conference Phosphorus: Lessons from 10+ Years of Numeric Standards for Wisconsin’s Waters. This is the first event in a series of quarterly water symposiums sponsored by the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin, Great Lakes Higher Education Consortium and Council of the Great Lakes Region.
