And speaking of politics, former president to visit area

The Green Bay Press-Gazette is reporting that former President Bill Clinton will be in Green Bay this Friday (Oct. 19) to campaign for President Barack Obama. As of late afternoon Tuesday, the newspaper was not reporting, or speculating about, possible locations for the visit. In previous presidential campaign years, the Kress Events Center, University Union and former Phoenix Sports Center have been the site of high-profile campaign stops. The list includes Obama’s February 2008 speech at the Kress, a 2004 PSC rally featuring nominee John Kerry and Sen. Ted Kennedy, and an October 1996 appearance by then-First Lady Hillary Clinton at the PSC. A sitting or former U.S. president has never visited the UW-Green Bay campus.
