Student Employee of the Year nominees, and a ‘thank you’ for your help

The Student Employment Office extends a big THANK YOU to all supervisors who nominated student employees this year. They received 13 nominations that are in the process of being rated by the judging committee. All nominees will be honored and the winners will be announced at this year’s Student Employee of the Year ceremony on April 13 at 2 p.m. in the Union’s Phoenix Room B. The 34th annual University Leadership Awards Program is issuing its call for nominations. Reminder: Nominations needed for spring international visitors


The International Visiting Scholar Committee is soliciting nominations for Spring 2015 Visiting Scholars. The deadline is Oct. 1. The nomination materials can be found at their site. All members of UW-Green Bay community are eligible to apply and bring an international visitor whose expertise will be of general interest to our campus and beyond. Wanted: nominations for AAUW Dreamers and Doers Award

The deadline for nominations for the AAUW – Green Bay Area Branch 2014 Dreamers and Doers Award has been extended a week, to Saturday (Feb. 22). You still have time to submit a nomination for an area woman who has demonstrated achievement, sustained leadership, and shared her talents to make Brown County a better place in which to live. They are especially interested in pioneers and those who have broken barriers and inspired others. Nominations due Friday for Women of Color recognition

UW-Green Bay is accepting nominations to represent the University at the 19th Annual UW System Outstanding Women of Color in Education Award Ceremony in October at UW-River Falls. Eligible candidates include UW faculty/staff, students or community members. The selection criteria is available below for your reference. Please e-mail your nomination to Paula Marcec, marcecp@uwgb.edu, no later than Friday (Feb. 21) along with a one-page summary of the nominee’s contributions to women of color, diversity and women’s studies.

— Women of color who have worked in the areas of women’s studies scholarship and activism, especially as they have served to improve the status and climate for women, particularly women of color.
— Women of color who have advocated for women, particularly women of color.
— Women of color who have consistently demonstrated their ability to rally diverse forces together to advance the agenda of women, particularly that of women of color.
— Women of color who have created positive changes at your institutional level, i.e., curriculum development and infusion, receiving grants, and mentoring women.
— Women of color who have demonstrated an understanding of the interplay of family and community and culture in the lives of women of color.

Reminder on nominating colleagues for Founders Awards

Already sent campuswide but repeated here for the record: The Awards and Recognition Committee encourages anyone from the UW-Green Bay community (faculty, staff, students, and community members) to submit a nomination(s) prior to the March 10, 2014 deadline. The nomination form for the 2014 Founders Association Awards is available electronically. All awards will be presented at convocation in August.
