Green Bay men finish 2-0 and win subregional championship

Green Bay buried a season-high 13 three-pointers and JayQuan McCloud scored a career-high 23 points against Morehead State on Saturday afternoon, as the Phoenix men’s basketball team cruised to an 87-70 victory in the championship game of the 2K Empire Classic Subregional at Eastern Washington University. McCloud was named Subregional MVP for his outstanding weekend, as the sharp-shooting guard averaged 22.0 PPG in his team’s two victories. ShanQuan Hemphill was also named to the All-Tournament Team, after scoring another 17 points in today’s win. ow a perfect 2-0 on its Pacific Northwest road swing, GB will travel down the coast to Eugene, Ore., for a tall-task order of facing Oregon in its next  road game. GB will visit the 13th-ranked Ducks on Tuesday night for a 9 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. PT tip in its final game of the 2K Empire Classic. Oregon finished 3rd at the 2K Empire Classic in New York City this past weekend.
