The Green Bay women’s basketball team (1-2) secured a victory over No. 16 Missouri on the road last Friday night, taking down the Tigers 56-49 at Mizzou Arena. It was the first win of the season for the Phoenix (1-2), which battled back-to-back ranked opponents in consecutive weeks. It is the second-consecutive season in which Green Bay has defeated a ranked opponent, as the Phoenix picked up wins over No. 24 Arizona State and No. 23 Marquette last season. Missouri is the highest ranked opponent to fall at the hands of the Phoenix since GB beat No. 12 Michigan State in the 2011 NCAA Tournament to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. The team returns to the Kress Center for a 7 p.m. game against Maine on Tuesday (Nov. 20, 2018).
