Bellin Health Foundation Vice President Molly Vandervest will become the organization’s new president May 1, succeeding longtime Bellin team member Nan Bush, who is retiring.

Vandervest has been with Bellin since March of 2020, including her time with The Bellin Health Foundation and a prior role as Regional Team Leader for Employer Clinics. During this time, Vandervest has demonstrated the ability to lead initiatives and build partnerships including Bellin’s community response to COVID-19, the Bellin Love employee giving program,

“Changing Healthcare. Changing Lives.” capital campaign, and the creation of a strategic plan to move the Foundation forward.

Prior to her time at Bellin, Vandervest served in fundraising and community development roles for UW-Green Bay’s Athletic Department and Downtown Green Bay, Inc. Vandervest earned her certified fundraising executive credential, a master’s degree in applied leadership from UW-Green Bay, and a bachelor’s in journalism/strategic communication from UW- Madison. She also graduated from the Wisconsin Hospital Association Leadership Academy as part of the 2023 class. Vandervest serves in board roles for the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay, Friends of the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary and the UW-Madison Alumni Club of Brown County.

Vandervest succeeds Nan Bush, who on April 30 will retire after nearly 20 years with Bellin Health. Bush worked on the Bellin Hospital pediatric unit during summer 1979 before later joining the health system as the leader for Women’s and Children’s healthcare in May 2004. She became director of The Bellin Health Foundation in late 2008 and has served as its president since mid-2021. Bush’s Bellin ties run deep, with her husband and two of her four children being born at Bellin Hospital.

“We are so grateful for Nan’s years of service and dedication to Bellin Health, and we look forward to continued growth and service to our patients and community as Molly begins her tenure,” said Chris Woleske, executive vice president of Bellin and Gundersen Health System and president of the Bellin Region. “We are fortunate to have such incredible leaders as we honor the past, celebrate the present and look forward to a bright future for The Bellin Health Foundation.”

Vandervest said,  “Thanks to our generous donors and supporters, The Bellin Health Foundation has a 30-year history of improving the patient and staff experience across our health system. I am so grateful for Nan’s legacy of leadership and beyond excited for the opportunity to lead this incredibly talented and dedicated team.”
