CATL’s first ‘faculty consultants’ are Gurung, Baker
The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce the appointment of its first “Faculty Consultants,” for 2012-13: Profs. Regan Gurung (Human Development) and Kimberly Baker (Human Biology). Chosen for their teaching excellence, use of innovative teaching techniques and experience with the scholarship of teaching and learning, Gurung and Baker will work with CATL’s director, Prof. Aeron Haynie, to provide “teaching coaching” to new faculty. In addition, consultants will give campuswide presentations on teaching large lecture classes, incorporating high-impact practices, using clickers and case studies, and promoting student research.
