Obama letter featured in Pride Center display

Included at UW-Green Bay’s Pride Center display in the University Union, Monday, Sept. 15 was a letter sent to select university and college campuses from President Obama (with a hand-signed photo) recognizing Monday as National LGBT Community Center Awareness Day.

Obama wrote: “Over time, everyday acts of compassion and generosity can build a momentum for change that rises up to create a more just, more hopeful tomorrow… these centers improve lives and remind us of the ability we have to realize the future we seek.” UWGB’s Pride Center welcomed visitors from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to the booth space across from The Phoenix Bookstore.
