UW-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller names Betsy Mitchell and Christopher Howald to Council of Trustees
GREEN BAY — University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller has named two community leaders — Betsy Mitchell and Christopher Howald — to the University’s Council of Trustees.
Betsy Mitchell
Betsy Mitchell is the owner of Mitchell Management Consulting company, which specializes in leadership and organizational development, executive coaching/peak performance consulting and strategic alignment and planning. She is the retired vice president of organizational development for the Green Bay Packers, a position she held from 2008 to 2012. She has worked in the organization since 1993 as the staff/player development consultant until being promoted to vice president. In the Green Bay community, she has served on nonprofit boards such as the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay. Mitchell has consulted with UW-Green Bay Athletics since 2002. She has an undergraduate degree in nursing from UW-Milwaukee and a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing from UW-Madison.
Christopher Howald
Christopher Howald has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Tweet/Garot Mechanical Inc. (a mechanical contracting firm with offices in De Pere and Wisconsin Rapids), since 2016. Before being named CEO, he was the vice president of administration at Tweet/Garot — a company his family helped found. Howald is responsible for setting strategy, strengthening culture and overseeing performance. Prior to joining Tweet/Garot, he worked as corporate counsel at Autodesk, Inc. He served as an associate attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati law office and was a law clerk to the Honorable Justice N. Patrick Crooks of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He serves on the board of directors for several organizations in the community, such as the Brown County United Way, NEW Community Shelter and the Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, a law degree from Santa Clara University and an executive MBA from Notre Dame.
