UW-Green Bay’s 6:30 Concert Series continues on October 23, 2018 with ‘Florentine Opera’
GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s 6:30 Concert Series continues its season with, “Florentine Opera” on Tuesday, Oct 23, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Weidner Center’s Fort Howard Hall. The performance will feature the Donald and Donna Baumgartner Studio Artists performing opera’s greatest hits from Handel to Bernstein, with selections in Italian, German, French and English. This season’s Donald and Donna Baumgartner Studio Artists are talented singers beginning their professional careers. They are Nicole Heinen, soprano; Briana Moynihan, mezzo-soprano; Nicholas Huff, tenor; and baritone Nathaniel Hill. The singers will be accompanied by pianist Ruben Piirainen.
The Florentine Opera Company is Wisconsin’s oldest fully professional performing arts organization and the sixth-oldest opera company in the United States. The company is celebrating its eighty-fifth anniversary season this year. This performance is presented with support from The Fine Arts Institute at East High and Sharon Resch, Czech/Slovak Voice Competition.
The 6:30 Concert Series is designed to connect the campus with the community through the exploration of music. Performances feature insightful presentations by performers, composers, and special guests. The series offers new perspectives on diverse styles, often exploring the music from multiple angles.

- Begin at 6:30 PM
- Last between 60 and 90 minutes
- Are free and open to the public (excluding the December 12 concert); donations are gladly accepted.

About Fort Howard Hall
Perhaps the most versatile space in the Weidner Center, the 45’ x 54’ 200-seat, theatre-style hall features a beautiful hardwood floor and retractable seating. The privacy of the space and the hardwood floor make this a perfect location for dinners, receptions, meetings and social dancing. The retractable seating allows the hall to be transformed into a small performance space ideal for recitals and lectures.
