UW-Green Bay’s Brad Jozwiak receives GEM award
UW-Green Bay groundskeeper, Brad Jozwiak is the recipient of the GEM (Great Employees Make Magic) Award from Southeastern Service Corporation. SSC is a service partner within the education sector that provides customized facilities management programs, including custodial services, grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance, and construction & project management.
The GEM Award is an outstanding performance award that is given to just one employee out of thousands across the country. The $1000 award will either be used for a scholarship or to hire another grounds employee over the course of the next year.
Since he began in December of 2020, Brad and his colleagues have worked extremely hard to help the university function at its fullest potential. By doing so, Brad unknowingly put himself in position to receive a GEM Award. The criteria for this award stems from a few categories such as leadership, customer service, work quality, and accountability among others.
“Brad is willing to lead the team even if he is not the team leader. In Grounds there are many jobs that are thankless and Brad has no issue stepping up to the plate and getting the job done. This past year we were able to complete more projects than ever on this campus and Brad was an integral part in each one,” said UW-Green Bay Facilities Administrative Program Manager, Brad Gajeski. “From what I have witnessed Brad is a GEM; I would also like to add that his fellow coworkers demonstrate these attributes as well and I would consider them GEMS as well.”
The UW-Green Bay campus community is thankful for the work Brad and his coworkers do on a daily basis. Whether he’s helping on a large project or simply helping community members with directions on campus, Brad has always represented the university in a positive light and has continued to help advance every aspect of campus.
