High winds, heavy snow (14.6 inches) force rare campus closing

Great work by the Facilities Management crews in getting campus ready to re-open today (Thursday, Dec. 10). UW-Green Bay announced shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 9) that all classes would be cancelled for that day, and when Gov. Jim Doyle ordered an hour later that state offices and campuses close, all but essential workers were told not to report. The governor’s directive led to the first “campus closing” in memory at UW-Green Bay (tell us if you remember differently), but the University has on several occasions cancelled all or part of a day’s classroom schedule.
