Accepted students discover admission in a Snap

Students admitted to UW-Green Bay for fall 2017 are receiving news of their admission in an additional and unique way this admissions cycle. Any applicants that provide their Snap (formerly known as Snapchat) handle in the application process receive a snap from UWGB congratulating them from the UWGB Snap account. Each batch of snaps are created and sent by Admissions intern, Katie Vlachina. The same UWGB account posts bi-weekly “Snap stories” sharing events on campus, making this personal-touch even more engaging for admitted students. UWGB Social Media Specialist Jena Richter Landers shares that the snaps have been going over well and are met by a lot of excitement from recipients including admitted students taking screenshots, sharing the image in their Snap stories, and sending positive responses to the UWGB account.
