Men’s soccer win Saturday was a classic
It has been a challenging year for the Phoenix men’s soccer team (5-9-3), which entered last Saturday’s Senior Night game at home vs. Valpo winless in six previous Horizon League matches. A pair of lightning-bolt scores, however, sent the seniors out in style. With 37 seconds remaining in regulation and Green Bay trailing 1-0, senior Lawrence Talery forced overtime by heading one in off an assist from Defrim Ramushevski. The drama resumed with only six seconds remaining in the first OT, as Tyler Swanner buried one on a pass to Talery to seal the victory. The Phoenix finishes the regular season Friday at Cleveland state. Read more on men’s soccer.
