Next ‘After Thoughts’ to feature UW-Green Bay AD Gillespie

UW-Green Bay director of intercollegiate athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie will talk about the state and future of Division I athletics during the University’s next After Thoughts presentation Thursday, Nov. 6 in the Grand Foyer of the Weidner Center. Gillespie, who became one of just 28 female athletic directors (of 346) in D1 when she was hired a year ago, also will discuss her experiences in a male-dominated field in her address, titled “Lean In: 28/346.” The event begins with networking and hors d’oeuvres at 5 p.m. and continues with Gillespie’s address at 5:45. All attendees will receive a ticket to that evening’s women’s basketball game against UW Oshkosh, and will be eligible to win additional tickets as door prizes.
