Chancellor Miller talks reserves for ‘Press-Gazette’ front-page story

The Green Bay Press-Gazette took a look at UW-Green Bay’s Program Revenue fund balances for a front-page story in Monday’s (Oct. 20) newspaper, speaking with University Chancellor Gary L. Miller about the funds in light of a recently released UW System report. UW-Green Bay held $22.2 million in unrestricted Program Revenue balances at the end of June, the story reports, up from $21.2 million a year ago and $18.3 million in June 2012. Miller told reporter Adam Rodewald the funds are at an appropriate level, adding that legislators’ concerns about UW System transparency surrounding the balances have been addressed. “It’s a number that has resulted from a lot of great strategic planning over the last half decade,” Miller said. “We’ll continue to plan forward for these balances. As a business practice, this is something you pretty much have to do.” Read the full story.
