Alumni success: With assist from Meyer, late bloomer scores with Gamblers
The play-by-play announcer for the Green Bay Gamblers hockey team is a UW-Green Bay graduate recently promoted to a full-time, front office position. He got his start in broadcasting here on campus, but his big break actually came in an off-air conversation with a faculty member. “My GPA was 1.62 and I was on probation,” Jason Habeck recalls, but Prof. Tim Meyer gave him a chance. “I graduated with a 3.4 GPA, with the real-world tools to be successful in business. I truly believe if it wasn’t for him letting me into the program, I would have been just another drop-out statistic.” Interesting story, click here.
