Campus photo may be featured in upcoming PBS documentary by Ken Burns

UW-Green Bay archivist Deb Anderson received an inquiry last fall about a particular photo of UW-Green Bay students holding a protest March against the Kent State shootings. It may be used in the upcoming PBS documentary by Ken Burns, “The Vietnam War.” Anderson states it is “beyond exciting to know that one of our historic campus photos may be used in this landmark documentary.” The 18-hour, 10-part documentary premieres on Wisconsin PBS stations on September 17 at 7 p.m.  If the UW-Green Bay photo made it into the film, Anderson expects it to be seen in episode 8, “The History of the World,” which features the antiwar movement from April 1969 to May 1970. This episode premieres September 26 at 7 p.m.
