Green Bay campus is hosting Back to School Store
The UW-Green Bay campus is hosting the “Back to School Store,” August 8, 2018. The annual community event is organized by the Service League of Green Bay. The Back to School Store provides more than 1,500 children in grades 6-8 with essential school supplies and clothing. Families also have access to dental, vision and developmental screening. The event is run by volunteers and donations, and community members are encouraged to dedicate their time for the cause.
Service League President Anna Brunette says that UW-Green Bay was a great choice for this year’s event for its resources, including accessibility, parking and space. In addition to donating facilities, the UW-Green Bay community is pitching in to make this year’s event a success. To date, MultiEthnic Student Affairs (MESA) has collected 1,500 children’s books to donate. The Phoenix Bookstore has kindly donated UW-Green Bay themed folders for the children, and Chancellor Gary L. Miller and wife Georgia are volunteering their time as celebrity shoppers.
