Seen on campus this week are small groups of Green Bay Police Department officers on tours led by members of the UW-Green Bay Public Safety force. UWGB Police Chief Tom Kujawa explains that with the GBPD now going to district assignments — meaning individual officers are assigned to the same general geographic area each shift — it makes sense for those assigned to UWGB’s part of town to get better acquainted with campus. Public Safety extended the invitation, and GBPD leadership accepted. About a dozen officers who make up the campus-area core team are visiting to get an on-the-ground look at the layout, talk with their peers here, and even compare notes on wireless hotspots and other potential incident-response considerations.
