‘National-caliber people in this hall today’
Chancellor Thomas K. Harden used Saturday’s Commencement ceremony to make a point about UW-Green Bay students and graduates competing and succeeding at the very highest levels. Phoenix fans, he said, are well aware that Kayla Tetschlag and her women’s basketball teammates are competitive with any program in the country. Don’t forget, he said, that the same holds true for distinguished graduates such as Diane Ford ’75 and Dr. Tina Sauerhammer’99, Green Bay natives who have gone on to regional and even national prominence in industry and healthcare. “There are world-class, national-caliber people in this hall today,” Harden told the audience, indicating that some, no doubt, would arise from the Class of 2011. “That’s our track record at UW-Green Bay. Do your best to uphold that tradition.”
