Migration of the pianos is this week
A special Log message from WSMA festival managers Kevin Collins and Adam Gaines:
You have to see it to believe it. Next week you will notice the annual “migration of the pianos” as these noble instruments sweep majestically through our hallways on their way to their traditional performance grounds. You and your colleagues are invited to participate in this beautiful spring ritual, and we are hopeful that you will join us in celebrating all that UW-Green Bay has to offer during this special time. On Friday May 3, and Saturday May 4, approximately 3,500 potential UW-Green Bay students, 200 school music teachers, with family and friends, will be on campus for the WSMA State Solo and Ensemble Festival, hosted by UW-Green Bay Music. It is one of the busiest days on campus of the year.
The Music Program happily invites all UW-Green Bay academic units, Student Orgs and programs the opportunity to set up displays, video screens and information tables to attract these talented students to your UW-Green Bay habitat. The Music program annually provides more than 50 student volunteers and all UWGB faculty plan to participate. Additional volunteers are always welcome, and please feel free to wear UW-Green Bay clothing that “represents” your department/organization, etc.
Buildings used on Friday 4 to 9 p.m. will include:
Theatre Hall, Studio Arts, Weidner Center
Buildings used on Saturday (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will include:
Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, Rose Hall, Student Services, Studio Arts, Theatre Hall, University Union, Weidner Center, Wood Hall
Come and witness first hand the glitter, the pageantry, the capes and the tubas. Interested? Contact: Marisa Balistreri, email@example.com, Ext. 2944.
