Wanted: Your event ideas for next Common Theme
This year’s Common Theme, “Creativity, Innovation, & Vision,” is still going strong (we’ll have more for you soon on some cool upcoming events), even as planning is under way for next year’s theme — “Global Citizenship in an Evolving World.” As we told you here previously, the proposal for that topic reflects on how globalization has triggered a wide range of social, cultural, political, environmental and economic changes throughout the world — and how virtually all fields of study and industries are now impacted by global issues. This wide-ranging topic has innumerable possible applications, and the Common Theme Task Force wants to hear your ideas for events. There’s a form on the Common Theme website or you can email one of the task force co-chairs, Donna Ritch (ritchd@uwgb.edu) or Brenda Amenson-Hill (hillb@uwgb.edu) with your suggestion. For those unfamiliar, the yearlong Common Theme program involves students, faculty, staff and community in a focused dialogue about a specific issue or area of study. It engages participants in the ideals of a liberal arts education and UW-Green Bay’s interdisciplinary mission, encouraging exploration of the theme from multiple perspectives. More information.
