Transcript: So originally, I actually wanted to be a secondary English teacher but when I went to college for it, I ended up getting a student position as a digital marketing assistant which I found that I loved way more cuz, it still used my passion for English but was really modern and into the business world and always changing. So, I transferred to UW-Green Bay to be a Marketing major. My favorite class so far has been my Digital Marketing class. I really enjoyed it because it teaches you a lot that you might not know or even think of when you’re creating materials online and the final project was a Facebook analytics, sort of all-over project. So, you were to pick a business and then a couple competitors and compare and contrast what they did well and what they could have done better. I always choose Crumbl. I love their marketing strategy, also it’s kind of fun to look at cookies all day instead of looking at like, more boring busy stuff. So, comparing them to like, Insomnia Cookies or even like a local business like Uncle Mike’s is really fun but it also brings into perspective how much businesses do for marketing that you might not even think about. What I really enjoy about the Marketing Program at UW-Green Bay and what I feel really helps me connect to my instructors, is that I really enjoy doing case studies, especially when they apply to discussions in classrooms. It really helps broaden your perspective and learn a bit about how you can market certain products to different demographics. My social media internship has definitely helped me grow in the marketing field because creating engaging content is always difficult because the trends are always changing which is exciting but also difficult about social media marketing. I think if I could choose to go anywhere with my Marketing major I would want to go toward a body-positive fashion brand. I think brands like Aerie have a lot of power in the online space when they talk to young people particularly young women about their bodies um, kindness especially about body positivity is so, so, so important so that would absolutely be a dream position of mine is to work in digital marketing for a brand like Aerie.
