Call for Participants: WiSys Quick Pitch registration deadline is March 12

Spread the word. Student researchers are invited to participate in the WiSys Quick Pitch—a research-focused, elevator-style pitch competition—for a chance to win $300.

WiSys Quick Pitch inspires students to consider the impact of their research and learn how to present it in terms the general public can understand. Participants have three minutes to impress a panel of judges with their ability to articulate their research’s importance to society.

The registration deadline for “pitchers” is March 12, while the event will take place on April 7 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. You can register at wisys.org/quickpitch.

The competition is open to students at all levels. Both basic and applied research projects are welcome. Also, students can present research at any stage of development (it does not need to be finished).

And it’s not just for STEM students. The event is inclusive of all students doing research. Students from all disciplines, including the social sciences and humanities, are encouraged to participate.

The top finisher from campus secures a spot in the WiSys Quick Pitch State Final against the top finishers from other UW System schools.

This year, all Quick Pitch events will be held virtually and take place in three showcase events featuring students from multiple schools. The April showcase will feature students from UW-Eau Claire, UW-Green Bay, UW-Parkside and UW-River Falls.
