DUI simulator vehicle brings sobering experience to campus

The UW-Green Bay Healthy Choices Task Force is bringing a DUI simulator to campus so students and others can “take a sobering look at driving under the influence.” The event takes place on Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby just outside the University Union’s Cloud Commons. A “virtual drive” will demonstrate the dangers behind the wheel of an actual vehicle modified to provide the driver a virtual impaired-driving experience. Panoramic views of a digital road are presented via a head-mounted display unit. Data received from the wheels of the car render the virtual experience in real time.
