Green Bay women win double overtime thriller
Congrats to the Green Bay women’s basketball program for winning it’s opening regular season game. “The team had a thrilling 111-105 double-overtime win against Central Michigan on Wednesday night in a game played at McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The Phoenix overcame a 15-point deficit in the opening minutes of the third quarter and another deficit in both the fourth quarter and first overtime. It’s the second-most points UWGB has scored in program history, just a point behind the 112 it had against Cleveland State in 1992. It is the first time it has topped the century mark since scoring 103 against Lewis in December 2005. Sophomore forward Karly Murphy, who missed all but one minute of last season after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament in a knee in the 2018-19 season-opener, finished with a career-high 30 points and 9 rebounds, shooting 13-for-25 overall in 45 minutes.” Read more from the Press-Gazette.
