Good news for grads: Job prospects are best in some time
A Sunday (May 13) Press-Gazette business story offered some good news for new grads, reporting they have better job prospects this year than in any since the recession began. Career Services officials here, at NWTC and St. Norbert say hiring has increased during the last year, and that generally, certain occupations or sectors are showing signs of improvement. UW-Green Bay’s Linda Peacock-Landrum lent her expertise for the story, talking about the state of the job market and ways to get ahead. Networking generally and social networking superficially are important, she said — some companies post openings to LinkedIn or other networks, but not on their websites. Full story.
