TV-2: At Eco U, food goes from greenhouse to plaza planters to Union’s chefs

Of course we have a green thumb — we’re Eco U! WBAY-TV reporter Sarah Thomsen reported Wednesday on UW-Green Bay students who are growing vegetables and herbs that will in time find their way into University meals. The food is being grown in the greenhouse and will be transplanted into those raised, concrete landscaping beds located above the Student Services Building. Students Molly Collard and Emily Korger have arranged with A’viands food service to have the locally grown food served on campus. The push toward consuming locally grown food fits well with the University’s Common Theme: “Realizing Our Sustainable Future.” Tremendous story, a must-see.
