Philosophers’ Café: Parrillo on conspicuous consumption vs good living
The next edition of Philosophers’ Café is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. this Wednesday (Oct. 1) at Kavarna on Broadway. Adam Parrillo, an assistant professor, cultural geographer and world traveler, will lead a discussion of the mostly American concepts of affluence and consumption as definitions of the “Good Life,” vs. the example of some South American societies (Ecuador, for example) where the model is “Buen Vivir” (good living). The Philosophers Café is open to all. Look at all this year’s programs and topics.
