Faculty note: Voelker presents on SoTL for national, state groups
Associate Prof. David Voelker (Humanistic Studies and History) recently gave a few conference presentations related to his work in the scholarship of teaching and learning. At the Organization of American Historians annual meeting in Atlanta, he presented on “Meaningful Assessment in Large Classes” as part of a workshop titled “Beyond Coverage: Toward a Signature Pedagogy for History Survey Courses.” At the UW System’s OPID spring conference in Green Lake, he led a lunchtime roundtable discussion about the humanities and the scholarship of teaching and learning, and he co-presented with Professor Anthony Ciccone (UW-Milwaukee) a session titled “Why am I taking this course? Why am I teaching this course?”
