Gerds previews final 360° Thursdays concert of the year

Local 5 Critic-at-Large Warren Gerds on Tuesday (April 22) posted a preview of next week’s 360° Thursdays event, which will wrap up the lecture-concert series for the academic year. The concert will feature New York-based Rose & the Nightingale, an all-female foursome of instrumentalists and improvisers that includes Pulaski native and former UW-Green Bay student Leala Cyr. Its current project, “Spirit of the Garden,” is inspired by botanic gardens and blurs the boundaries of jazz, folk, world and chamber music. The group will perform at UW-Green Bay as part of its weeklong Green Bay residency, organized in partnership with the Green Bay Botanical Garden, Wisconsin International School and UW-Green Bay Music. The 360° Thursdays event starts at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Howard Hall at the Weidner Center, and is free and open to the public (with donations appreciated). Read Gerds’ preview.
