Kraft talks SOTU, presidential visit with Milwaukee Public Radio
Milwaukee Public Radio station WUWM turned to Prof. Emeritus Mike Kraft for his take on Tuesday’s (Jan. 29) State of the Union event and President Obama’s planned follow-up visit to Wisconsin. In a story that aired Wednesday (Jan. 30) Kraft says the trip — Obama is scheduled to visit the GE plant in Waukesha Thursday — is not a surprise. “So, why Wisconsin?” Kraft said. “In some ways because the state is typical of the country in terms of income distribution.” He added: “I think he’ll express a concern with working class Americans who can’t seem to get jobs that pay sufficiently to live a comfortable life, he may speak to unemployment conditions, highlight his achievements so far in promoting economic growth across the country.” Full story.
