More on Faculty Development Conference keynoter: ND’s Walvoord

UW-Green Bay’s 18th annual Faculty Development Conference will be held Jan. 24, 2014 at the University Union at UW-Green Bay. This year’s theme is “Assessment as a Tool for Change.” The keynote address, Assessment in Higher Education: Useful, Sensible, Feasible, and Acceptable to Accreditors will be given by Barbara E. Walvoord, Ph.D., professor emerita from the University of Notre Dame. Walvoord will summarize the current state of assessment nationally including its promise and dangers. Walvoord has consulted and led workshops at more than 400 institutions of higher education throughout the United States on topics of assessment; teaching and learning; and writing across curriculum. She has published numerous books and articles on learning and assessment including the book, Assessment Clear and Simple:  A Practical Guide for Institutions, Departments, and General Education.
