Look for Laffle at big red dog… and donate to shelter

Spring 2011 laffle
Come meet the Laffle mascot — our little charity drive’s version of Clifford the Big Red Dog — through Monday, May 2, at the Registrar’s Office.

The cutout is helping promote the drive collecting items for the local Humane Society.

(If you’re new to campus and wondering what a “laffle” is… well… we’re not entirely sure, either… but we think it’s like a raffle but funnier.  This spring’s campaign is in fact  another in a series of charity-drive laffles in which the good people of the Registrar’s Office collect donations, then offer donors a ticket for a closing drawing, and then hand out prizes both fun and seriously impressive at the end. That’s a “laffle.”)

For our pet friends, the campaign asks for everythings from towels, blankets, pillows, quilts, sheets, mattress pads… to new and used leashes, collars, littler boxes, animal toys, brushes, clippers… dog, cat, kitten and puppy food… treats… shampoo and more. Cash or check donations to the Humane Society will also be accepted.

They’ll be doing pick-ups twice a week April 25-29 if employees call 2126 and request a pick-up.
