Wednesday’s Wind/Band concert has Earth Day ties
“Building a Sanctuary for our Sustainable Future” is the inspiration for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 21) at the Weidner Center. The UW-Green Bay Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony, joined by the “State Bound” Honors Band, all under the direction of Prof. Kevin Collins, address in various ways this year’s campus Common Theme of sustainability. Professors Michelle McQuade Dewhirst and Adam Gaines are featured soloists. With April 21 being John Muir’s birthday, and the eve of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, many of the selections have environmental or reflective themes.
