UW-Green Bay Theatre, Havel skewer bureaucracy with ‘The Memorandum’

The UW-Green Bay Theatre program will present The Memorandum, an absurdist comedy that is as current today as when it satirized the bureaucracy of the Soviet Bloc. The play was written by Czech playwright Vaclav Havel when his nation was part of the Soviet Bloc; the work was banned and Havel imprisoned, but Havel was years later elected president of the newly free Czechoslovakia. The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 22-24, 28-30, and May 1 in the Jean Weidner Theatre of the Weidner Center. For ticket info, casting and more, go to a previous post on the event.
