International Women’s Day Luncheon features U of New Mexico scholar

Kimberly Gauderman, an associate professor of Latin American History at the University of New Mexico, will discuss her work in Andean nations and Central America with people seeking asylum from political, domestic and sexual violence as guest speaker at UW-Green Bay’s annual International Women’s Day Luncheon. The program takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m. next Thursday (March 6) in the 1965 Room of the University Union, with a light lunch provided. Lunch is free, but registration is required. Gauderman’s visit includes additional talk, panel discussion
Along with her presentation at next Thursday’s luncheon, visiting scholar Kimberly Gauderman will be part of two additional programs:

Wednesday March 5 — Gauderman will lead discussion on the topic “Women, Domestic Violence and Collective Identity in Latin America and US Asylum Law,” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Union’s 1965 Room.

Thursday, March 6 — A number of UW-Green Bay academic programs will host a faculty forum discussion from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Phoenix Room B (note room change) of the Union. Gauderman and others will address “The Role of Universities in Promoting Citizenship in Their Communities.” Other panelists are Stephen Perkins, Ellen Rosewall, Gabriel Saxton-Ruiz and Hernan Fernandez-Meardi. The program, free and open to the public, is sponsored by Urban and Regional Studies, Public and Environmental Affairs, Humanistic Studies, and Global Studies.
