How to work with all – including students with neurodiversity

Join the Office of Disability Services Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to learn more about Neurodiversity, one of the most popular talks at the 2020 IDI! Each year students disclose that they are neurodiverse to faculty and staff, often in the context of seeking assistance. Neurodiversity may include individuals that experience the Autism spectrum, ADHD (Combined presentation, Predominantly Hyperactive/Impulsive Presentation, Predominately Inattentive Presentation), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Tourette’s Syndrome and more. This session will focus on discussing tools for faculty and staff to utilize to have effective, clear, and supportive conversations for neurodiverse students. After this presentation faculty and staff will be able to respond to a student that discloses a disability and be able to identify different university and community resources. Sign-up, here. If you have any questions please email Mary Kate Ontaneda ontanedm@uwgb.edu
