Students rock to Saving Jane, First Kiss

Saving Jane, First Kiss Concert, Sept. 7, 2009UW-Green Bay students were treated to a Saving Jane concert Sept. 7 in the Mary Ann Cofrin Hall Circle. The Columbus, Ohio-based band, which found its style shifting more from acoustic roots to alternative rock is best known for its top-40 hit “Girl Next Door.”

The band is said to have humble beginnings around a campfire, where vocalist Marti Dodson (then a junior at Ohio State University) and rhythm guitarist Pat Buzzard became fast friends and soon song-writing partners. Milwaukee’s First Kiss opened the show. The event was sponsored by Good Times Programming as part of Great Beginnings week.
