Photo gallery: The best of 2008 student art

36th Annual Juried Student Art ExhibitionGREEN BAY — More than 50 University of Wisconsin-Green Bay students took part in the 36th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition held at the Lawton Gallery on campus.

The student art show was judged this year by Daniel Keegan, director of the Milwaukee Art Museum. Eleven students won cash prizes for their chosen works, which will be on display in the gallery with pieces from other exhibitors through Dec. 12.

Students could exhibit up to three pieces made from just about any medium, including, but not limited to: painting, drawing, print making, photography, graphic design, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry/metals, textiles and handmade paper.

All exhibited pieces were created within the last year. The Student Art Exhibition is open to any UW-Green Bay student regardless of major.

The show was judged on Nov. 13. The Lawton Gallery, located inside Theatre Hall, 2420 Nicolet Drive, is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Closed Nov. 27-30 for Thanksgiving break.)
