Congratulations to UW-Green Bay’s Future 15!
They are the future.
Out of the thousands of young professionals in the Greater Green Bay area, hundreds are nominated and 15 are highlighted to represent their peers. They are selected because they have the potential to lead their communities, their places of work, their families. They are Greater Green Bay Chamber’s Current Young Professionals Future 15. More impressive, three of the 15 are employees of UW-Green Bay and four are UW-Green Bay graduates.
“The annual event profiles 15 area young professionals who are growing and excelling in their respective fields,” according to the Chamber of Commerce Website. “These individuals are currently influencing the growth, prosperity and quality of life in Brown County and will demonstrate the ability to positively impact the area in the future through professional accomplishments and community involvement.”

- Acting Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services, Jennifer Jones ’99 (Public Administration)

- Dietetic Internship Director Laura Rowell

“I found out on December 22, and wow, what a huge surprise and great first holiday present,” said Rowell, a working mom of three small children. “I remain humble and honored in the small role I play on campus to help shape and form young dietetic professionals. Both the undergraduate and internship program housed in Human Biology play a large role in this honor, as well, because we all work so closely together as a team to accomplish big things for our students and interns!”
Current created the young professional awards in 2007 as a way to honor those that advance its mission by profiling best practices that could be adopted by other local individuals and organizations. Additionally, Current sought to recognize area young professionals in the Greater Green Bay community who are composing noteworthy accomplishments and contributing to the overall quality of life in Greater Green Bay.
“It was great news to hear right before Christmas,” Lo Lee said. “I was able to share with my family. I am honored to be a part of the Future 15 cohort because I love seeing the Green Bay community strive and thrive towards greatness. And I am very honored to be a visible women of color to a Hmong population that is not very visible in these types of professional programs. Lastly, I am very proud to be representing UW-Green Bay.”
They will be honored, and three special awards will be announced — Young Professional of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Next Generation Best Place to Work — at the Future 15 Fire & Ice Gala, Thursday, April 26 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hyatt on Main/KI Convention Center, downtown Green Bay.
