We love the lead of today’s Green Bay Press-Gazette story about the Green Bay women’s basketball win Thursday night. “The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women entered Thursday with the stingiest defense in the nation. But this was ridiculous.” Green Bay beat Detroit 85-27 at Calihan Hall, holding the Titans to the second-fewest points in the Phoenix’s Division I history and the fewest in Detroit history. Remarkably, the Phoenix did not let the Titans score the entire second quarter. The Top 25 Phoenix closes out its three-game road trip on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Oakland and returns home to the Kress Center Friday, January 26.
