Kujawa explains Virtual Parking Permits for students
In communication with faculty and staff, UW-Green Bay’s Office of Public Safety has already rolled out the details of this summer’s conversion to Virtual Parking Permits (with “parking stickers” replaced by license plate scanning). Now, Chief Tom Kujawa has followed up with an email to students. In a July 8 message to all students, the chief advises those who will be enrolled in on-campus classes that they can begin entering license plates numbers in their SIS accounts by clicking “add/update license plates.” Students can enter more than one plate, but only one vehicle can be on campus at a time. The Virtual Permit fee will be added to individual SIS account when the upcoming term fees are applied. Students who do not use the parking services can easily opt out, after August 1, 2014, through the “opt out/in” out option in their SIS account. Students taking strictly on-line classes are exempt at the outset, with no need to opt out or provide license plate information. Those who plan to be on campus more than five times per semester, during enforcement hours, however, will need to go to the Bursar’s office to purchase a permit and to provide license plate information.
