‘Tolerance, or Inclusivity?’ the topic for LGBTQ brown-bag this Wednesday

The LGBTQ Resource Center will host a brown-bag gathering from noon to 1 p.m. this Wednesday (Oct. 31) in the Union’s Christie Theatre. This month’s topic will be “What is the difference between tolerance and inclusivity?” The hour-long session will open with a brief discussion led by LGBTQ Project Coordinator Stacie Christian. Special guest speaker Lisa Poupart, professor of First Nations Studies, will talk about her experiences in providing traditional teachings on the Seven Sacred Gifts during a middle school youth visit to the undergraduate course Women and Gender in First Nations Communities. The remainder of the time is for group discussion, questions and answers.

Reminder: All are welcome — The LGBTQ Resource Center invites all students students, staff and faculty members to  attend. “Please come share time and conversation with others who are interested in learning and talking about ideas on how to expand inclusivity in our personal lives and our time at UWGB.” The center’s monthly brown-bags are on the interests and concerns of all, not just the LGBTQ community. The topics focus on areas that concern leadership, education, health and social justice. The  gatherings are casual, and you can bring a lunch. Light snacks are provided.
