Morris shares first-day message with middle schoolers
UW-Green Bay’s Ron Morris was featured in a Tuesday (Sept. 4) Fox 11 News story about motivating middle school students to go to college. Admissions adviser Morris shared his message with students at Washington Middle School, telling them it’s never too early to prepare for success. “People should be thinking about higher education really at birth,” Morris said. “Most of them don’t, and that’s part of the reality.” Tuesday’s speech was just one way in which Morris encourages educational attainment early. He’s also a driving force behind UW-Green Bay’s Phoenix Scholar Program, a weeklong residential summer program designed to promote the academic success of African American eighth-grade boys.
