Not much education-specific in State of the State

Those interested in public higher education and/or K-12 heard little specific regarding those programs in Gov. Scott Walker’s first State of the State address in Madison Feb. 1. Instead, the governor outlined in more general terms the depth of Wisconsin’s budget problems. He said he believes there is clear need for Medicaid reform, changes in state employee benefits and pensions, and overall belt tightening. He promised details in his budget, due in late February.
