Spanish classes

Master the basics of Spanish with a proven communicative approach that emphasizes speaking competency while also building skills in listening, reading and writing. A great way to increase your versatility in your career and enrich your personal life.

Date: Sessions available July through December.
Format: Scheduled online study in Canvas and live online conversation groups on Zoom

Your choice of levels Spanish 0-3 and a variety of dates. Instructional videos and interactive online materials in the Canvas course platform introduce new grammar and vocabulary and teach pronunciation, listening and reading skills.

Participants should budget 3-4 hours a week to work through the workbook and the online asynchronous materials in preparation for weekly live online conversation groups. Participants practice speaking live with the instructor in small groups of 3-6 students in 30-minute weekly sessions. Groups will vary weekly, so participants should be available the entire one-hour time slot. Participants will receive instructions for logging into Canvas to access course materials approximately one week prior to the first day of each class, and course materials will remain accessible for one month after the course ends.

The classes are a collaboration between Continuing Education and Community Engagement at UW-Green Bay and Continuing Studies at UW-Madison. Learn more and register on our website.
