Alumni enjoyed golfing ‘fore’ scholarships

Alumni and friends raised a record $15,000 in scholarships during the annual Alumni Scholarship Golf Outing, Friday, June 13, and according to Alumni Director Kari Moody, had a blast doing it. UWGB’s Vets 4 Vets Club also raised $1,000-plus that will go toward scholarships for veterans who are enrolled at UWGB. A record number of golfers — the 144 maximum — participated in the 2014 event. Bellin Health and Heartland Business Systems/Microsoft were major sponsors. Scholarship dollars were raised through auction items, raffle items, sponsorship fees and participants fees.

“Our sponsors, Alumni Board and committee members and volunteers did a fantastic job,” Moody said. “It was a beautiful day and a spirited event.”
